Gold - Color Walk Through by escume Gold - Color Walk Through by escume
Someone asked me recently if I plan a color scheme before I start, and the answer is rarely (unless the color gods are smiling upon me). But I have a lot of fun playing around with different combinations. Recently, I’ve tried to find a solution to when a I’m in a color conundrum. This walk though type of thing is mostly ramblings and not sure if it’s any use to anyone but me XD. Nothing really about color theory, just some exploratory photoshop stuff. Works best for limited palette paintings. If anyone has any other questions, perhaps it’ll inspire another one of these!

See the final: Gold

Your work is fantastic, do you begin your linework using a grid with a reference image or just sketch it out freehand??

I normally sketch it out freehand with my references on the side. Thanks :)

I really like this explanation, I actually begin making images in black in white, then colorize them, but I stopped because I was not confident with it, I was not sure does it work for me all the time, but now I am sure. By seeing your post, reminds me of all the fun and get discoveries I found with B&W into Colorization. The outcome is most beautiful too, I just got back into art. I love art, but I have stop posting and making new pictures, but now I am back after years, and I am warming up quite nicely too. Good to see Someone actually touch the fact you can always go back and change the color scheme. I it is very inspirational for me, and I am sure others too. Thanks for Sharing it is very wonderful to see your art too. I watch you, and I eventually would like to take time a comment on some of your masterpieces too. Your colors are very good. :star:
